COMPLEX LITIGATION - Mr. Schutty has been the lead trial attorney in numerous commercial, negligence and product liability cases involving major airlines, steel mills, nightclubs, restaurants, construction sites, motor vehicles, and one unusual case that arose out of an alleged parental kidnapping. He is also listed as counsel of record in well over fifty reported decisions in the state and federal courts.  In the last six years, Mr. Schutty has personally collected well over $130 million dollars in money damages for his clients.

The Terrorist Events of September 11th, 2001
- Mr. Schutty represented over 40 families affected by the terrorist events of September 11, 2001. He represented two of the most severely burned victims and recovered in excess of $5 million on behalf of 15 of his clients.
    Aviation - Mr. Schutty has worked with well-known airline clients, including: Pan American World Airways, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, British Airways, Aer Lingus, Icelandair, Olympic Airways, Korean Airlines, British West Indies Airways, El Al Israel Airlines, and LOT Polish Airlines.  Mr. Schutty was the lead trial and/or appellate attorney in some well known aviation disaster cases, including the litigation arising out of:
      - The Pan Am/Lockerbie disaster of December 21, 1988
      - The terrorist attack launched against El Al passengers at Rome's Leonardo da Vinci Airport, 1985
      - Korean Airlines Flight 007 shoot down by Russian military aircraft on September 1, 1983
      - An independent air charter flight crash in The Azores, Portugal, 1989
      - The crash of LOT Polish Airlines Flight 5055 on May 9, 1987
      - The crash of an Aeromexico flight in Chihuahua, Mexico, 1981

      Personal Injury
      - Among other cases, Mr. Schutty represented the victim of a rape in a New York City nightclub in Boley v. Club USA, et al. The latter action was tried before Justice Jane S. Solomon in the Supreme Court of the State of New York, New York County, in 1999; after a two week trial and a jury determination that the defendant nightclub was liable, a substantial settlement was reached in plaintiff's favor. Mr. Schutty was lead trial counsel for Luc Petit in Bernstein v. Match Gilroy, Inc., et al., where the plaintiff sought a multi-million dollar award for a fractured orbital allegedly caused by Mr. Petit, a restaurant security guard; the jury returned a defense verdict for Mr. Petit after a seven day trial. 

      Civil Rights - In 2010, Mr. Schutty obtained the largest civil rights jury verdict ($18.6 million) in the State of New York in Newton vs. City of New York.  This verdict was upheld and reinstated by the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in 2015.
        Products Liability - Mr. Schutty has represented a diverse number of product manufacturers, including those who have manufactured motorcycle helmets, steel mill equipment, motor vehicles and various aircraft.

        Medical Malpractice - Mr. Schutty has represented the victims of several forms of medical malpractice.

        Real Estate - Mr. Schutty regularly handles real estate matters for his clients, including real estate sales contracts and closings.
